Two-time Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) champions Chennaiyin FC is all set to meet SC East Bengal on 26th December in 7th Round. If we talk of Chennaiyin FC, then they are known as slow starters because their approach of late winning steaks in the tournaments.
However, the management has decided to revamp the team this season.
Head Coach, Csaba Laszlo have worked accordingly to bring fresh energy in the team. Despite finishing Runner-Up last season, Csaba Laszlo believes the mentality of footballers will be put to the test during the upcoming season. Chennaiyin FC decided to keep the Indian core team intact. Anirudh Thapa, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Thoi Singh, Pandiyan Srinivasan, Karanjit Singh and Edwin Vanspau. The Signing of Enes Sipovic along with the arrival of Indian full-backs Reagan Singh will give The Marina Machans a solid defense foundation.
Inclusion of Emerson Gomes de Moura, better known as Memo, known for his versatility as a defensive midfielder and central defender, will add experience and stability to Chennaiyin FC’s ranks. The signing of Fatkhulo Fatkhulloev will boost the attacking mood of the team as the 30-year-old winger can operate on either flank and can capitalize every opportunity.
Slovakian forward Jakub Sylvestr signing will add necessary attacking impetus to the squad. He has been in good goal scoring form especially over the past few years, and the team management is certain he will carry that touch with him in Indian Super League.
